Update on Negotiations

Thank you for your continued commitment to our customers and your patience throughout the bargaining process.  Kroger Houston has some good news to share with associates in wage progressions.

In August 2020, we informed Local 455, that we would implement our Last, Best, and Final Offer, including:

  • $56 million investment in wages
  • More than $75 million annually on health care for hourly associates

Effective for hours worked beginning February 6, 2022, all associates in progressions will receive a pay increase:

  • All employees in progression will receive a $.50 or greater wage increase, depending on position.
  • The wage increases will be posted in Express HR on February 9.
  • The wage increases will be reflected in your February 17 paycheck.

Your store leader can share what the pay increases will mean for you.

Additionally, as part of our Last, Best and Final Offer, all top-rate associates and department heads will be receiving a wage increase of $.40 cents or higher effective for hours worked beginning Sunday, April 3, 2022.

Negotiations Update

  • Despite what Local 455 has recently shared with you, the company has NOT reached a tentative agreement with the union. We have had some meaningful discussions with the union, but there are still some outstanding issues that need to be addressed before we can reach an agreement.
  • We also wanted to share that late last week, we heard from the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) on Local 455’s unfair labor practice charge regarding our declaration of impasse and implementation of our LBFOs. The NLRB has dismissed the union’s charge and determined that Kroger Houston followed the law in declaring impasse and implementing our LBFOs.
